REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology is a gentle and relaxing complementary therapy that supports physical wellbeing and encourages deep relaxation of the mind and body. Pressure and specialised massage techniques are applied to specific reflex points on the feet. These points are traditionally associated with different areas and systems of the body, and the feet can be understood as a reflective map of the body.
Reflexology has been practised in various forms across different cultures for thousands of years. Historical evidence suggests it was used in ancient China and Egypt, and forms of foot therapy were also practised by Native American tribes. In the 20th century, physiotherapist Eunice Ingham helped develop the structured approach to reflexology that is commonly practised today.
In general, reflexology is used to support the body’s natural processes by promoting relaxation and reducing stress. Many people find it helpful for easing tension, calming the nervous system, and supporting restful sleep.
Through years of professional experience and continued training, I have studied various approaches to reflexology and completed advanced courses that allow me to support clients seeking care for fertility concerns, assisted conception (including IVF, ICSI and IUI), hormonal health, pregnancy, post-natal wellbeing, and menopause. Reflexology is always offered as a complementary therapy and is not a substitute for medical care.
ADVANCED THERAPIES
Pregnancy Reflexology
Pregnancy Reflexology is a gentle and supportive treatment designed to promote comfort and relaxation during pregnancy. Treatments can be offered from 12 weeks onwards and may help ease common physical discomforts experienced during each trimester.
By encouraging relaxation for the mother, reflexology may support overall wellbeing during pregnancy and help create a calm environment that supports bonding and preparation for birth.
Research shows that regular Reflexology treatments during pregnancy may improve the chances of a shorter, less intense labour and improve recovery time.
Reproflexology™ (Fertility Reflexology)
Reproductive Reflexology is a specialised form of reflexology that focuses on supporting overall reproductive health for both women and men.
For women, treatments follow structured protocols that correspond with different phases of the menstrual cycle, with the aim of supporting hormonal regulation, cycle awareness, and general wellbeing. Reflexology may also be adapted to support clients experiencing conditions that affect reproductive health.
For men, treatments are tailored to promote relaxation and general health, while addressing factors that impact fertility.
Reproductive Reflexology is offered as a complementary therapy and works alongside, not in place of, medical guidance.
Reproflexology™ for Assisted Conception
This treatment is suitable for clients undergoing assisted conception, including Clomid cycles, Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), and Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
Reproductive Reflexology during assisted conception is a supportive therapy designed to complement medical treatment. Specific protocols are chosen to align with each stage of the fertility treatment process and may help promote relaxation and ease treatment-related stress or side effects.
